Union 4

Restoration with a modern twist

Union 4 was originally designed to be a project centered around restoration. The home at the front of the site, built in 1888, was constructed by Fred W. Osborne, a leading figure in the early beginnings of San Diego’s construction industry. Because of its historical significance, the front property remained the focal point in the design, while the three additional housing units behind complemented it. Clean lines and an open space concept preserve the original structure, putting a modern twist on history without depreciating its significance.

Built using our signature modern design, Union 4 utilizes contemporary stylistic elements in order to seamlessly blend a historical site with state-of-the-art innovation. A rooftop solar panel array effectively reduces the electric bill, making Union 4 as sustainable as it is beautiful. Taking advantage of the sloped property it is built upon, Union 4 features breathtaking views of downtown San Diego and the San Diego Bay.
